Samantha is a creative consultant, awards-adjacent writer, and holder of an impressive creative resume.
With experience as a produced playwright, published poet, copywriter, and editor with organizations such as Concord Theatricals, Columbia University, Netflix and New Light Theatre Project, she has been a “writer with a day job” for years. For decades in fact. A long time. She’s old and has a lot of skills, is what she’s saying.
Her background as a working writer and theatre artist has developed her into a champion of creativity as a means of individual growth and community connection. She’s spent years in classrooms absorbing all the wisdom she could, in dark rehearsal rooms generating work and offering kind feedback and encouragement on the work of others, in front of a bright computer screen developing her own voice and helping other creatives develop theirs, and as a wayfinder for colleagues and friends for creativity resources.
As Samantha has built her own artistic life and career, she has noticed a severe lack of general creative opportunities in everyday lives. This observation is what inspired her to begin formalizing her work as a creative consultant.
She believes every person is a creative person and that an artistic practice benefits everyone.
Her goal is to use her years of experience, wealth of creative knowledge, expert listening skills, and supportive nature to connect (or reconnect) people with their inherent creativity and joy.
Samantha holds a BA in Theatre Arts and English from Western Washington University (WWU) and an MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University. She is currently based in Queens, New York where she is probably reading a book, watching a sitcom, making a baked good, or walking through a cemetery right now.
